Early and Personal Life:
Saurav Ranjan Datta was born on February 25th, 1978 to Bengali parents in a small town of Assam called Silchar. He did his schooling at Silchar Collegiate School in Assam and later his graduation with honors from GC College – Silchar, affiliated to Assam University. He has also done his post-graduation in management from a college in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. He has been working in the corporate world for the last two decades in senior positions. Saurav Ranjan Datta has a younger brother who also lives with him.
Career
Saurav Ranjan Datta started his writing career with articles for newspapers and magazines. He has written numerous articles for several national & international publications like Hindustan Times, CNBCTV18, Timeless Travels Magazine UK, Outlook India, Times Journal, The Statesman Kolkata, Kitaab.org, Ancient Origins Magazine, Ancient History Encyclopaedia, Sulekha.com, Firedeye.com, Utkal Today, The Assam Tribune, HT OTT and The Indian Hour. He has also written poems and short stories for several other anthologies and publishers. His first book ‘Maidens of Fate’ is based on real-life incidents that the author had encountered in his growing-up years. Saurav Ranjan Datta grew up in a family of strong women. His mother, aunts, sisters, and friends have deeply influenced him in life in several aspects. Therefore, Saurav Ranjan Datta wrote his first book as a dedication to all the strong women of India.
His second book ‘Where Bravehearts Dwelt’ is based on Indian history. The genre is historical fiction here. It has been written with the purpose of presenting history in an interesting way to young people. Many people have praised the book. His third book ‘Goddesses of Fury: History’s Most Daring Queen’ is a purely non-fictional work on history. Several academic bodies have mentioned and referenced it. Many Wikipedia articles also have taken this book as their reference point.
